On January 31, each student will give a 10 minute presentation of his or her work, including:

one overarching theme or idea
5 images
conceptual and material interests
artists/ movements who influence your work
a little background info

Practice this presentation, you have to pack it all into ten minutes.

LegalArt is currently receiving applications of video-based artworks to be exhibited and screened in a public event.

In collaboration with Southernmost Situations, the exhibition and screening will showcase current and new works by national artists who work with video as medium.

One work will receive an Audience Award which will be voted for on the day of the exhibition and screening, which will take place at LegalArt on May 19^th, 2012.

New York Arts Practicum is a summer program in New York City where advanced undergraduates, recent graduates, and graduate students experientially learn artmaking and participate in intellectual culture outside of the art school. The program centers around an internship with an active artist, a studio seminar, and weekly site visits to artist studios, galleries, and museums. Participants complete internships in the studios of Arts Practicum mentors. Through the intensive process of working with an artist on a day to day basis, students gain a view of their near futures as artists, learning models for negotiating a creative life outside of school in an expanded field of art prduction.

Locust Projects is pleased to announce an open call to South Florida graduate-level artists for a solo exhibition in Locust Projects' Project Room during the summer of 2012. We are accepting applications for solo or collaborative projects. All artists must be currently enrolled in MFA students.

Miami Writer's Prize is Artlurker's annual award aimed to encourage residents of Miami Dade County to write critically about art. To enter simply submit a review of a recent art related event to writersprize (at) artlurker (dot) com by May 4th 2012. The winner will receive an $800 stipend in return for an 8 post writing placement on ARTLURKER.com. The winner will be announced via www.artlurker.com on May 18th, 2012.
